Sophisticated computational modeling requires powerful software.  One of the primary goals of the NSF supported OMnI computational modeling grant was developing a powerful platform that would support a wide range of computational mod.

Nova is a software platform for computational modeling.  It uses a graphic interface to implement dynamic systems, agent-based, and spatial modeling and can be used for modeling neural nets.  Available for free for educational researchers, this program provides extensive online tutorials.

Darling, Salter, & Burns (in press) uses a series of examples to describe basic functions of Nova using a social science setting.
